Comparing Skin Clinics in Seoul
Compare the answers to the same questions before choosing a skin clinic in Seoul: who will examine and treat you, how you will communicate, what the written estimate includes, and who will handle follow-up. Start with your concern and travel dates, then ask each clinic on your shortlist for those details before paying a deposit.

Selection criteria: compare the visit you would actually book
Write down your main concern, preferred language, dates in Seoul and any event you need to be ready for. Send the same summary to each clinic. Keep each reply beside the others, with the date and the person who answered. Mark unanswered questions as “not confirmed” and ask again before deciding.
| Criterion | Record for each clinic | Clarify before booking |
|---|---|---|
| Clinician | The examining and treating doctors, and the credentials you checked. | Will the appointment be with the doctor whose credentials you reviewed? |
| Consultation | Whether you can book an examination before committing to treatment. | Can you decide after discussing the options with the doctor? |
| Language | Who will speak your language or interpret, and at which parts of the visit. | Does support cover consent, treatment instructions and follow-up? |
| Estimate | The same proposed treatment, amount, included items and total in KRW. | Which charges or treatment details remain unconfirmed? |
| Trip fit | Appointment length, any return visit and your departure date. | Can the doctor assess the plan against your itinerary? |
| Follow-up | A contact route, availability, fees and access to records. | What happens after you leave Korea? |
Use the completed sheet to choose a consultation. If two replies describe different treatments or amounts, ask each clinic to explain its proposal before comparing the totals. Keep your treatment decision open until the examination.
How to verify clinician credentials
Ask for the treating doctor’s name in Korean and the exact specialist qualification claimed. The Association of Korean Dermatologists describes checks for its specialist certification mark and the certificate displayed in the clinic (specialist verification guidance, checked 2026-10-18). Use its local specialist search (checked 2026-10-18) and compare the details with the clinic’s reply. If you cannot match them, ask the clinic to help you verify the qualification.
Check the institution separately in the Medical Korea Registered Hospitals directory (checked 2026-10-18). Match its name, address and registration code. Keep the institution’s registration and the individual doctor’s credentials in separate rows on your comparison sheet. For the steps and questions behind these checks, see checking a clinic before you book.

Language-support questions to ask directly
An English website does not confirm who will communicate with you at your appointment. Ask for the arrangement on your specific date, including whether the doctor speaks your language or an interpreter will join the consultation.
- Who will interpret the medical discussion, and what medical interpreting training do they have?
- Will the same support be available when I read the consent form and ask questions?
- Can I receive the estimate and aftercare instructions in a language I read well?
- Is interpreting included in the estimate, and must it be booked separately?
- Which language can I use for follow-up messages after the visit?
Record the confirmed arrangement rather than just writing “English available.” The booking and consultation guide covers what to send before the appointment and how to prepare for the discussion.
Compare itemized estimates on the same basis
Ask for a written estimate in Korean won with a date. If a procedure is proposed, request its name, the device or product, the amount or treatment area, and the number of sessions. Then ask which consultation, numbing, aftercare and follow-up charges are included, and whether the total includes VAT.
Keep the deposit, cancellation terms and unused-session refund terms beside the estimate. For a package, ask for the included items to be listed separately. A single-session quote and a multi-session package need that breakdown before their totals can be compared. See prices and payment for the questions to settle at the payment desk.

Plan the visit around your travel dates
Send your arrival and departure times with your preferred appointment date. Ask how long to allow at the clinic and whether a return visit may be needed. Bring your itinerary into the consultation so the doctor can discuss the proposed treatment and aftercare against the time you have available.
Follow-up questions before you pay a deposit
- Who should I contact about a concern after treatment, and during which hours?
- Can I return before my flight, and is that visit included in the estimate?
- How do I get my treatment record and written aftercare instructions?
- What support can you provide after I return home, and what would require an in-person examination?
- What should I do if I need urgent help when the clinic is closed?
Save the answers with your booking confirmation. If language support, the treating doctor or follow-up is still unclear, resolve those gaps before making the deposit. Use the first visit checklist once you have chosen your appointment.
Questions about choosing a clinic
What should I compare before booking?
Compare the treating clinician and verified credentials, consultation arrangements, language support, an itemized estimate, travel timing and follow-up. Send the same questions to each clinic and clarify missing details before paying a deposit.
Does an English website confirm English-speaking care?
No. Confirm who will communicate with you on your appointment date, whether an interpreter is needed, and whether support covers the medical discussion, consent, written instructions and follow-up.
